Darro

Darro features the story of his brain tumor and the struggling feelings associated with this dark moment in his life through this pop-punk music video debut. From storyboarding, to costume and prop purchases, to hiring a warehouse full of actors, every piece of this music video was vital to make this a great first for Darro.

Through carefully choreographed dancing, Darro depicts the moments overcoming his brain tumor. Darro specifically found three dancers who could bring his vision to life and Burning Wick Studios directed the rest, capturing gorgeous performances accompanied by tight band takes.

Darro takes a dive into the dark feelings surrounding the operation of his brain tumor. Darro rented a giant Peerspace with props to set up different scenes which Burning Wick transformed into these hospital and ethereal shots, using our own team for extras too.

Darro and Burning Wick Studios traveled to Vermont to shoot this creepy style music video. Darro and Mike Monto worked heavily together planning the story boarding of the video while trying to utilize some of the cool features of the house such as the hidden door behind the book-case. The band shots were shot inside the Burning Wick’s warehouse in Denville back in NJ. Mike Monto set dressed the performance shots so it correlated well with the narrative shots that took place in Vermont.

Phoning in all the way from LA, Michael Meaney pays Darro a visit as a feature in this song. Another Peerspace rental with several scene setups making this set easier to navigate when shooting. The team went for Tim Burton aesthetics when editing to match the pop-punk romance themes.
